Manfrotto is proud to present the M-Y family, the new lightweight compact tripod family in the Manfrotto range.
Designed for the first-time photographers using lightweight DSLR, compact and bridge cameras, the M-Y tripods are the perfect balanced choice for improving your photographic passion.
Small, portable, compact, essential and reliable, they offer a perfect tripod+head combination. Without the hassle of choosing a separate head, M-Y tripod is always ready for mounting your camera, providing you an immediate and simple solution, ready to be taken virtually anywhere.
Available in two different sizes with different payloads, M-Y tripods are equipped with two new models of three-way (suitable also for lightweight video camera application) or ball heads.
Among the major innovations of this new family: new rotating selectors that allows to change the leg angle and stronger ergonomic collars to improve the performance and reliability of the leg locking.
Together with the M-Y range we have introduced also the renewed 391RC2 3-way head (which substitutes the 390RC2) and the 776YB compact monopod.
After the successful X and CX generation tripods, another range joins the Manfrotto family: the Y family. The letter “Y” states the link with the current X range, giving continuity to the naming of the Manfrotto products, and also represents a graphic recall of the tripods die casting; it will be present in all the codes of the M-Y family, identifying the range of products addressed to the entry level consumer; the letter “M” underlines instead the link with the Manfrotto proven professional quality and makes the name easier to remember and more remarkable for a product destined to the advanced amateur market, introducing it as “MY Manfrotto”.
The M-Y family will substitute the present DIGI family, which will be discontinued.

Gitzo GT2531 Mountaineer Carbon Fiber 6X 3-Section G-Lock Tripod Legs
The main advantage of the Gitzo GT2531 tripod includes: G-Lock is Gitzo's leg locking system that increases system rigidity by 20% and allows quicker and stronger leg locking. Gitzo has added a solid machined aluminium upper disc with a new Safe Lock material that cuts vibration and improves grip between the GT2531 tripod and head. The upper disc can also be fitted directly to the upper casting, removing the center column for ground level photography or to save weight. Lightweight and compact, the legs are constructed of sturdy multifaceted tubular aluminum that features new quick flip lever leg locks for fast set-up and breakdown.
